VICTORIA PARK CHILD CARE CENTRE TO CLOSE ITS DOORS PERMANENTLY

After 56 years of operation, the Victoria Park Child Care Centre has made the very difficult decision to close its doors permanently.
In recent years the family founded centre has faced increased regulatory and operational requirements, along with reduced managerial and administrative capacity to effectively meet obligations.
Being a non-purpose built service with its inherent internal layout and natural outdoor environmental challenges has meant that a full refurbishment and upgrade to infrastructure within a reasonable timeframe would not be financially viable moving forward.
Co-owner Ross Yannis said, “We are proud of our history at Victoria Park, one supported by the Education and Standards Board’s acknowledgement as having a lovely settled atmosphere, with attentive educators and a very good safety record.
“Our Centre holds so many cherished memories from when our mother and father George and Thelma first opened the doors to families in 1969.
“We can attribute Victoria Park’s success to the extraordinary efforts of our long-serving Centre Managers, supported by their amazingly hard-working and dedicated educators over this time.
“It goes without saying that parents and children have always been first and foremost at the heart of our Centre.
“As such, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to all families past and present who have been part of the Victoria Park community and for your support and the joy you have brought to everyone over the years.
“We will now focus on supporting our team and families at our sister centre, Unley Mothercraft”, concluded Ross.
